"Par Tee" Time!

Longstanding cake fan Nancy emailed me a few weeks ago to ask if I could squeeze in some golf themed cupcakes for this weekend. They were requested for a small gathering of a group of golfers who hold their own tournament each year. The winner is awarded with a silver trophy referred to as a "quake" at an annual dinner and this year was Nancy's turn to host.

She did some research of her own and then passed her ideas on to me which resulted in the following display of chocolate cupcakes with green tinted vanilla buttercream as well as banana cupcakes with chocolate buttercream. Both were adorned with fondant cut-outs.

As we tried to finalize the cupcake decor, Nancy requested that some of the cut-outs have golf terms on them which was simple enough despite the fact that I don't golf. It wasn't until I started lining up the completed ones that I found the humour in an unintentional, yet seemingly subliminal message. Let the "Par Tee" begin...
