Old McDonald Meets Noah

This weekend I found myself buried in little animals with two cake orders back-to-back requiring hand-molded characters. The first cake was for little Brodie. His 1st birthday took on a farm theme and his mother Tiffany made sure I was booked WAY in advance for this special day!

We did a two tier cake and centered the theme around the predominant red barn. A little party of farm animals were added around the cake along with the oh-so-farmish wooden fence. Brodie was also provided with his own personal cupcake which was topped with a little piggy. Can't wait to see some pictures from this party!

The second cake was for Jack's baptism. His mother Megan, a long standing cake client, requested a non-traditional baptism cake themed around Noah's Ark to at least provide SOME religious connotation. Jack's a playful little guy so she wanted a cake that would really represent him. I have to say, I LOVE the sheep on this cake!

Anyways, Megan is so easygoing that she tries to make her cake orders simple for me, only I usually manage to go overboard...lol...like right off of Noah's Ark. Anyways, I had no idea where I was going with this cake until I had it covered with fondant - and frankly that's just the way I like it. I tried to stay simple which in this case I think I actually did, maybe because I had 2 other cakes to attack!

Happy birthday to Brodie and happy baptism (??) to Jack!
