It's the long weekend and a gorgeous one at that! Saturday may not have lived up to the best expectations, but the last two days have definitely been worthwhile. I'm just sorry that it's quickly coming to an end.And although I had vowed to keep my long weekend free and clear of any baking, I inevitably caved when a friend of a friend called asking for cupcakes earlier this week. It wasn't a huge undertaking by any means so I put aside a few hours of my Saturday morning to bake Avery some cupcakes for her 3rd birthday. Frankly, what else was I to do in the rain anyways??
Her mother said that she liked girly/princess-y things so I came up with these for her party. Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and cookies and cream cupcakes with Oreo buttercream were interchangeably tinted in pink and then decorated with a 5-petal flower cut-out.
You can't really write happy birthday on cupcakes so I opted for little princess wands with As and 3s to tie into the event. The cupcakes were also placed in some cute cupcake wraps I purchased and had yet to try out. I'm liking the look and will probably invest in some more of these for future use!
Happy birthday Avery!
