Around the World

Oh to travel....how I love to travel! I was bitten by the travel bug many years ago after experiencing my first all-inclusive Caribbean vacation. What could be better than 7 days of sun, sand, and surf? And how about the fact that someone else is cleaning your room and cooking your meals?? Now that's heaven. But of course I'm a spoiled traveler. Where some people consider camping a vacation, to me that would be work. Bathe in a lake? Are you serious? My idea of camping is a 3 star hotel.

I'm well aware of my limitations when it comes to traveling. I'm also well aware that I have friends who will forgo luxury and relaxation in the name of adventure. Irena is one of them. Although not in the extreme sense as I'm pretty sure she adores a bit of luxury as well! Everytime I talk to this girl she's getting ready to jet off to another part of the globe. This is life experience at its best.

Irena just celebrated a milestone birthday - the number for which is apparently "unlisted"! But besides that, this is also a big travel year for her. Maybe the two go hand in hand.

Soon Irena will be setting off for Asia on an extensive tour of what this great continent has to offer. The idea for her cake could've gone down two different paths. Of course she loves to shop, but she equally loves to travel and because THE big trip is looming her family decided that this would the most appropriate theme to celebrate.

The result? Edible luggage, complete with hand drawn travel stamps of some of the places she plans to visit and a map of the continent itself. Just a small reminder of the adventure that awaits...
