This is how one person described these cupcakes. I should hire her as my creative assistant as that was a pretty out-of-the-box reaction. I like it.In the last few weeks I've been bombarded with cupcake requests which is awesome as I seem to be finding greater joy in smaller packages these days. Cupcakes are fun - period. Although the downside is that there are usually leftovers which don't last too long around here - especially when chocolate is involved. Now that I think about it, this could be a dangerous line of work!
The event this weekend was a 55th birthday party for Sue. It was supposed to be a surprise, but like many things in life the plan derailed quite unexpectedly as the cover was blown mere days before the party. I guess some people just can't grasp the concept of a surprise party. Although this in itself probably caught the organizers by surprise. Not exactly what they had in mind! Regardless of what transpired before the actual event, I heard it was a huge success.
Sue's cupcakes were dressed in floral fondant toppers along with some whimsical leaves and vines. The only request was that they be "pretty" which I think was accomplished. Flavours included cookies and cream, lemon raspberry, and chocolate caramel and each cupcake was dressed in a white and pink cupcake wrapper prior to delivery which complimented the look.Happy birthday Sue! Surprise - you got cupcakes!
