Congratulations to this weekend's couple Katie and David! These two are near and dear to my heart so I had to be sure that their cake was as special as they are.
There were no assigned dinner tables here - only an array of sofas and black linen draped cocktail tables to encourage guests to mingle. In fact, this felt like a gallery opening. The ceremony itself didn't take place until 8:00 pm after a standing dinner was served courtesy of Chef Peter Martin from 41 King.
Katie and David are as laidback and easygoing as you can get so I wasn't surprised when they went outside of the box for their wedding. There was no hoopla to surround this day. Just an informal gathering of friends and family to enjoy some food, drink and good times.
The reception and ceremony were held at The Tannery in Kitchener which now houses an event centre and leasing office that can be rented for small functions. They chose the leasing office which gave their wedding an urban-chic feel with its exposed brick walls, contemporary lighting fixtures, polished concrete floors, and rustic wall prints.

This three tier was flavoured in lemon raspberry, banana raspberry, and chocolate fudge.
Congratulations Katie and David! May your adventure continue for many years to come!
For any of you getting married, check out The Tannery for something a little different http://www.thetannery.ca/.
